As Gaming Controller at EQC, you will oversee income audit and soft count functions, safeguard compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards, and drive the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting across key revenue areas. Casino gaming industry experience is required for this role, and we’re looking for a proven finance leader who can operate at the highest level. This role also leads process improvement, strengthens audit procedures, supports financial systems across revenue-generating departments, and serves as a trusted partner to casino management and executive accounting leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversees the income audit and soft count functions.
  • Coordinates with the Financial Controller to ensure the month-end closing deadlines are met.
  • Actively enforces compliance with department policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitors or reviews Income Audit journal entries and reconciliations to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of recorded financial data.
  • Evaluates revenue, cage, and players club audit procedures to ensure the detection of errors and possible fraudulent activity.
  • Oversees the creation and implementation of audit procedures for new lines of business and new casino promotions.
  • Evaluates all areas of responsibility for continuous improvement opportunities and implements process improvements as needed.
  • Assists in the design, implementation, and management of financial systems for all revenue generating departments.
  • Prepares reports or analysis as requested.
  • Supports the development and achievement of department goals.
  • Maintains working knowledge of regulatory changes to determine the impact on income audit and soft count operations.
  • Attends meetings with casino management as needed.
  • Approves hiring, terminations, promotions, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, leave requests, and performance improvement plans.
  • Acts on behalf of the Financial Controller or Director of Accounting in their absence

Minimum Qualifications:
REQUIRED:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required. Seven years of revenue audit experience required.
  • Five years of managerial experience required.
  • Experience in a casino gaming environment is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Class III A Gaming License from the Puyallup Tribe of Indians Tribal Gaming Agency.
PREFERRED:
  • Accounting experience.
Additional education or experience may substitute for minimum requirements.

Physical Requirements:
This position requires standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time; use of hand, eye, and finger dexterity; lifting, bending, carrying, stooping, walking, pushing, or moving supplies, materials or equipment weighing up to 25 pounds is required.

Additional Requirements:
Our facilities operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This position may require evening, weekend, and holiday availability as business needs dictate.
